I'm trying to be strong for her. Elena is hiding her fear of what's to come. At least today, on Christmas, she has a smile on her face. I'm glad I get to spend this
special day with her and I'm not locked in the tomb with Katherine. If only I could make my brother smile. He's going through his own pain that I don't think any amount of words will make him feel better. I will keep trying. Maybe Rose can distract him but I know Damon. He's hiding behind his pain. Maybe my present I have for him, will at least make him less grumpy. A good bottle of aged bourbon.
